Abstract:

Asensor is a device which detectsa physical property and recordsit.Arduino is an opensourceelectronicplatformoneasytouse hardwareandsoftware.TheArduinoboardare abletoreadinputslightonasensor.And UltrasonicSensormeasuresthedistance betweenobjectsandmaterialsusing “non-contact”technology.Theymeasured distancewithoutdamageandareeasyto use.TheoutputSignalsreceivedbythesensor areintheanalogform,andoutputisdigitally formattedandprocessedbymicrocontroller.In present,itisusedtodetectanobstacle,along withitsexactdistance.Theinternalanalogto digitalconverterisusedtogetaccurate distancemeasurement.Themeasureddistance isalsodisplayedona LCD screen.

2. LiteratureReview:-

Inthiswork,distanceoftheobjectis measuredthroughultrasonicdistance measuringsensorandthesensoroutputis connectedtosignalconditioningunitand afterthatitisprocessedthrough Arduinomicrocontroller.Themeasuredresults aredisplayedinliquidcrystaldisplay. Thisapplicationisusedtofindtheobstacles detectionandtheexactdistanceofanobject.The measureddistanceisdisplayedontheLCD display.Thehardwarecomponentsthesystem asexplainbelow.Thisdeviceisalsousedto measurethedistancefromanobjectwithits time.Itcandetectobjectsthatarewithina rangeof2cm—400cm ofatarget.Thisdevice use2digitalpinstofoundthedistance. UltrasonicRangeDetectingSensorworkby sendinganultrasonicpulseataround40KHz.It thenwaitandlistenforthepulsetoechoback andcalculatethetimetakeninmicroseconds.it canalsotriggerapulseasfastas20timesa secondanditcandetermineobjectsupto3 metresawayandasnearas3cmofrange.The snapshotofthesensorandworkingprocessof thesensor.Thesensorneedsa5Vpowersupplyto run.TheEchoisadistancebetweenobjectsthat ispulsewidthandtherangeinproportion.Then itcalculatestherangethroughthetimeinterval betweensendingtriggersignalandreceivingecho signal.

3. Algorithm:-

Step1:Resetthedeviceandemittheultrasonic waves.

Step2:Arduinowillcommandthetransmit toemitultrasonicwavesofapredefined frequency.

Step3:Ithasacondition

  1. Ifthereceiverdoesntreceiveanysignalwith inaparticularperiodoftime.Ifwilldisplaynot foundorfalsecondition.(gotostep5)
  2. Itwillrecordthetimeintervalbetween emissionandreceiving
  3. Therecordedtimeframehasdependenton wavetravellingfactor,whichhastravelled doubledofitsdistance.
  4. Therefore,wecalculatethedistanceasbelow: Distance=Timetaken/2
  5. Thefrequencyofwaveinairputsa dependencyandplaysamajorrole. Therefore,distance=timetaken/ 2*0.0344 Where0.0344is wavelengthofultrasonicwaves

Step4:Arduinounowillmakethecalculationin backgroundandgeneratethedistance.

Step5:ComparewhethervalueisDist=0or Dist>0

Step6:Ifdist=0,return(“noobjectfound” ,returnstep1)Ifthedist>0,printthevalue andtransferthevaluetoLCD

Step7:Reset.

4. Conclusion:-

Theobjectiveoftheprojectwastostyleand implementanultrasonicdistancemeter.The devicedescribedheredetectsthetargetand calculatethedistanceofthetarget.The ultrasonicdistancemeterisalowcostandalso asimpledevicefordistancemeasurement.This devicecalculateadistancewithsuitable accuracyandresolution.Itishandysystemfor contactlessmeasurementofdistance.Thedevice hasitsapplicationinmanyfields.Itcanbeused incarparkingsystem,automationandrobotics andalsodetectingthedepthofthesnow,water levelofthetank,productionline.Thisdevicewill alsohaveitsapplicationincivilandmechanical fieldforpreciseandsmallmeasurementsofa targetinthedigitaly.Forcalculatingthe distanceusingthisdevice,thetargetwhose distanceistobemeasuredinperpendicularto theplaneofpropagationoftheultrasonicwaves totheobject.Hencetheorientationofthetarget isalimitationofthissystem.Theultrasonic detectionrangesometimesdependsonthesize andpositionofthetarget.Thebiggeristhe target,strongerwillbethereflectedsignaland moreaccuratewillbethedistanceisalso calculated.Hencetheultrasonicdistancemeteris aparticularlyusefuldevice.
